Home again, home again, jiggety jig!

Honestly....it seems like we were just at crooked creek a few days ago....We left there almost exactly a week ago.
On the way home we played a little in the mountains, saw the TEXAS play in the palo dura canyon and stayed a night with our cousins in flower mound.

All I wanted to do once I got home was to unpack and organize my life....but....our ac was out. So, I have spent the past few days avoiding our 100+ degree house at all costs.
We went swimming, back to school shopping, got haircuts, dentist appts, met baby Gabriel...and the list goes on and on. For the girls, the best part of a hot house is getting to sleep over somewhere else. They spent the nite with the reddings one night.... And then Georgie was so cool to invite them over the spend the night....2 lil middle schoolers hanging out with a cool senior. I love that...that friendship is so sweet and special. Kate too.
Today we went to see captain America. Great movie. Hall went in full garb....and learned how to turn his shield into a lethal weapon. I had to remind him that shields were not to be thrown at people, faces, etc....kind of hard to understand after seeing the movie. :)
The best part of being home is getting to meet our new friends Tanya and Alex Redding. They came home from Ukraine 24 hours after we left for CCR....emry is so excited to have a new friend....and the girls and Ellie think they need to be together 24-7....it's so fun to have good friends to live life/pass off kids with. :) fun for me...and for the kids.
As of today at 5:00, the Bburger casa officially has a new air conditioner.... That is HUGE for us...as anyone who has been here in the summer or when we have lots of people over will agree....our house might finally get cool. Thank you, Lord. Seriously....I could not be more thankful.
I'll post a few pics from the past week.... 3 more days of summer....I don't know if I am ready for another school year.

-Casa Bonita in Denver on the way home.... Yes....the cliff divers were there. Fun....the kids loved it...but....it was not the meal I wanted after a month on property. I'd take CCR any day....

This is up behind the broadmoor somewhere.... Co springs.

Beau on a box....isn't that CRAZY!!

Guess who?

The Texas play in the palo dura canyon was great!

Family dinner at TJ's...so glad to be out of the car....

We got to meet/hold/love Gabriel Feingold....he looks just like Isa.

We registered Emry and haddie for 6th and 7th grade.....

Our new friend Tanya...to Emrys left.

Alex is on the front right.

And lastly....our own captain America. He even wore this afterwards to "meet the teacher" at Lamar.

Tableau makes for the coolest pics....

Have you even seen a cuter cowboy?

Being a YL staff kid has its perks....

Today....Beau and Hall conquered the ropes course at Crooked Creek.  It was amazing. Hall is so small that really, he just kind of hung out in his harness and one of us pulled him along.  Beau did a great job but the last wire was pretty scary for him.
Here are the pics...check out the videos also of them on th zipline.   Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Tonight at club was sweet.  We have been here for 3 camp weeks...our last week will start in a few days.  Knowing that we are leaving soon makes time here precious.  Being here is such a gift for everyone in my family....Kaeley is happy and thriving....aaaaaah....God is so good.
We werent sure if Hall could go...He did great!

Emily is on Summer staff. She helped Hall through...Metcalf Lindsey, I want you guys to be friends!

My little man.

Haddie has no fear.

 Asher and Wendy.
Brandenburger boys rocked the zip line!

Here are two videos....Beau...then Hall.  :)  You might want to turn down the volume.... sorry. :)
And...for some reason I had my camera turned, so, if you have a laptop, you might want to turn it on its side....
Here's Hall....

I didnt get in to Hogwart's...

Meet Harry's little brother, Larry....
I didnt get in to Hogwart's....but its cool because I'm so cool!

Haddie absolutely loves being here.  She is in her element. Someday...I think my dream would be to see her on work crew, then summer staff....and eventually on program somewhere.
Loving Christ, Loving Kids.....that is my dream and prayer for her.

My prayer

This month....I have the amazing chance to spend time with my niece here at Crooked Creek. She gets the chance to be here for 3 incredible weeks. To play, to listen, to live, to love...to be loved on...to hear about Gods incredible love story for her.
Tonight....Ryan Long sang his song, Dance with Me. The lyrics hit right at home....its about a Dad and his little girl....and how a Daddy loves....no matter what.

Man...more than anything...I want Her to meet Jesus this month....to experience his life changing love...to want a relationship with Him...to know she is loved. Treasured. Precious in His sight.
Dance with Him, K.
Dance.
You will never regret it.

The night that never ends...

The last few days have been amazing.
We have settled into camp life and schedule...and we love it.
Last night was "The night that never ends" at camp...one event after the other.
It is so fun to be a part of...and it is really cool to see Kaeley, my niece, in the middle of it all.

Today was a very relaxed day.  We played by the pool while campers hiked.  I rode the mountain bike trail with Georgeanne....played frisbee golf with Beau and Hall. Beau can throw a frisbee! He is really good! Today was so good....Tonight is 15 minutes of quiet....kids all over camp are talking to Jesus for possibly the first time in their lives.  Lights are out all over camp. The stars are bright....praying for changed lives.

Check out these clouds....it was incredible.

Kaeley....my niece....

Emily and Georgie with their work crew friend Luca. He is from France.

Kaeley jumped in at the carnival...

A mini va-cay...

Well...we have only been here 1.5 days...but it seems like longer. :) Our motel is close to downtown Manitou Springs. So, we have walked almost everywhere.
Yesterday we shopped, ate dinner and played in the penny arcade. The kids loved the arcade...they have old video games that make Ms. Pac-Man look young. Every video game you could remember plus pinball machines, carnival style games, etc. We all played a horse derby game where you roll the ball...and I won mug. Hmmm....should I have let a kiddo win?
They have parks everywhere here...on the way home we just hung out In the park for an hour or so.
Today we hiked up to a bridge and waterfall called grafitti falls. It was cool....but...the grafitti kind of bothered me. I am hoping if people tag at grafitti falls, they will be less likely to tag somewhere else...keep it all in the same place. :)
It rained off an on all day. After lunch at Front Range BBQ (Loved it!!) we ran into a little store to get out of the rain. Much to Emry and Haddie's luck, they offered hair feathers. The girls have begged for feathers for months...and I guess the time was finally right...they walked out strutting like peacocks. They are cute!
Garden of the Gods was amazing. We are Soo close to it. The kids loved taking fun pics. We hiked toward the enormous rocks and followed a little trail up. The view is incredible....I can't even begin to describe the beauty. The deep reds against the green of the valley....wow.
I hope my kids begin to see that the same God who created these amazing rocks also created them.
We have had fun as the "Brandenburger tribe" as one man called us. I have been asked several times if "all these kids" were mine. I'll claim Georgie and Taylor anyday. If they don't feel like family yet....wait until our assignment is over. :)
This is my first time blogging from my phone....we'll see how it goes.
Today's pics.....

The penny arcade...so cool!

-Haddie is a tree hugger.
