My prayer

This month....I have the amazing chance to spend time with my niece here at Crooked Creek. She gets the chance to be here for 3 incredible weeks. To play, to listen, to live, to love...to be loved on...to hear about Gods incredible love story for her.
Tonight....Ryan Long sang his song, Dance with Me. The lyrics hit right at home....its about a Dad and his little girl....and how a Daddy loves....no matter what.

Man...more than anything...I want Her to meet Jesus this month....to experience his life changing love...to want a relationship with Him...to know she is loved. Treasured. Precious in His sight.
Dance with Him, K.
Dance.
You will never regret it.

The night that never ends...

The last few days have been amazing.
We have settled into camp life and schedule...and we love it.
Last night was "The night that never ends" at camp...one event after the other.
It is so fun to be a part of...and it is really cool to see Kaeley, my niece, in the middle of it all.

Today was a very relaxed day.  We played by the pool while campers hiked.  I rode the mountain bike trail with Georgeanne....played frisbee golf with Beau and Hall. Beau can throw a frisbee! He is really good! Today was so good....Tonight is 15 minutes of quiet....kids all over camp are talking to Jesus for possibly the first time in their lives.  Lights are out all over camp. The stars are bright....praying for changed lives.

Check out these clouds....it was incredible.

A mini va-cay...

Well...we have only been here 1.5 days...but it seems like longer. :) Our motel is close to downtown Manitou Springs. So, we have walked almost everywhere.
Yesterday we shopped, ate dinner and played in the penny arcade. The kids loved the arcade...they have old video games that make Ms. Pac-Man look young. Every video game you could remember plus pinball machines, carnival style games, etc. We all played a horse derby game where you roll the ball...and I won mug. Hmmm....should I have let a kiddo win?
They have parks everywhere here...on the way home we just hung out In the park for an hour or so.
Today we hiked up to a bridge and waterfall called grafitti falls. It was cool....but...the grafitti kind of bothered me. I am hoping if people tag at grafitti falls, they will be less likely to tag somewhere else...keep it all in the same place. :)
It rained off an on all day. After lunch at Front Range BBQ (Loved it!!) we ran into a little store to get out of the rain. Much to Emry and Haddie's luck, they offered hair feathers. The girls have begged for feathers for months...and I guess the time was finally right...they walked out strutting like peacocks. They are cute!
Garden of the Gods was amazing. We are Soo close to it. The kids loved taking fun pics. We hiked toward the enormous rocks and followed a little trail up. The view is incredible....I can't even begin to describe the beauty. The deep reds against the green of the valley....wow.
I hope my kids begin to see that the same God who created these amazing rocks also created them.
We have had fun as the "Brandenburger tribe" as one man called us. I have been asked several times if "all these kids" were mine. I'll claim Georgie and Taylor anyday. If they don't feel like family yet....wait until our assignment is over. :)
This is my first time blogging from my phone....we'll see how it goes.
Today's pics.....

The penny arcade...so cool!

We were on the other side of the hole...looking down thru it.

Hey...shoot me a text or email if you got the email about this blog...there are just a handful of you. Hugs from the circus...

Le-Git....Winter Park

Wow.  We got to Winter Park this afternoon around 4. Holy Moly, it is amazing.
We met our assigned team and families....actually, the big kids met each other in the hall way before dinner....and they ran and played until dinner.  They rode the little gondola ride over and over and over.  It is about 5 minutes round trip and just runs down to a parking lot.  The bottom is a grate, so you are looking straight down at the ground.  They probably rode it over 15 times.....

Today we did a little retail therapy at a really nice mall in Denver....right next to where my brother and Holly live.  And actually, my friends Melinda and James used to live right there too.  Georgie and Taylor were excited about their J Crew bargains.  I hit Forever 21 and Abercrombie for kids. It was a great little refresher before we head to the mountains for a month.

I am really excited about what this month will hold.  If you could have seen Haddie's face as she went to bed tonight....she was grinning from ear to ear. Literally, she could not quit smiling.  Aaaaahhhh.....It is just such a peaceful feeling to see my children so happy .... and to know that it is stemming from time at Crooked Creek Ranch.... sometimes it is hard to leave home....leaving behind friendships and relationships....missing out on Joni bringing home Tanya and Alex....missing out on our family vacation for the 2nd time...her smile and excitement just reminded me of ONE more reason why we want to be on assignment.  My kids get to experience a place where kids meet Jesus.....where people love Jesus with everything they have....a place where lives are changed.  I want them to see that...to fall in love with that....to want that in their own lives.
For ministry to be a very real and rich experience that they want to pursue for their own life...

Okay...the room is dark.  Everyone else is asleep.  Why am I awake?  Last night I posted from my iphone, and I think some of you might have gotten an email...but, when I go to my blog sight, nothing is posted.  Hmmm....I will have to figure it out....post from my phone is such an easy way to do pictures.  THis is definitely a work in progress.

A typical day of travel...with the circus.

Somehow we left yesterday morning at 6 am with Georgeanne and Taylor in the car behind us.  Kate, Miranda and Kailee were all there to say goodbye.
Kids travelled great yesterday.  Hall decided he wants to ride one of the HUGE windmills that you pass.  They seems like something from a space movie to me. There are hundreds, thousands of them.
We ended up staying in Dumas, Texas. (shout out to my favorite dog ever) Our car acts a little funny after it has driven all day...so we played it safe by staying here.
The kids swam....we walked to dinner at Braums...Beau threw up at dinner....you know, a very normal day of travelling. I am trying to figure out what I am going to do about this blog...I really need one that I can blog from my phone...since I am anti computer these days.
Alright...take off is in 20 minutes.  Colorful Colorado, watch out.  Here we come.

Here We Go....

The car is packed.  The kids are all asleep. (I think) We hit the road at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning to head to our summer assignment at Crooked Creek Ranch in Fraser, Colorado.  Taylor and Georgeanne are brave enough to be driving behind us....and staying the whole month at CCR on summer staff and  work crew.

We will take a few extra days to get there....sort of a mini vacation....nothing big, but, any time in Colorado is a good thing.

I have not blogged before, but I thought I might try....give you guys a chance to keep up with what is going on while we are on assignment....and then maybe a peek into life at home once we get home.
So....Here we go.
